The Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO) allows individuals, business employers, educational institutions and other organisations to check current visa conditions.
If you’re an Australian visa holder, the VEVO system can provide the current details and conditions of your visa. You can also use VEVO to send proof of your visa conditions to others (eg, prospective employers, landlords, places you wish to study or the government of a country you wish to travel to).
Yes. If you’re an Australian visa holder, you can access your VEVO visa details through our Australian Right to Work Check (see more on this below).
An Australian Right to Work Check validates the rights of an individual to work in Australia.
The Australian Right to Work Check conveniently provides you with both a National Police Check and a Visa Right to Work Check in the one single process.
VEVO can only provide information about people who have their details available in the system.
Some foreign nationals, such as those permanent residents that migrated to Australia before the early 1990s and have not travelled out of Australia since, might not have a searchable record.
You may then need apply for an electronic visa record. Some people may have an ImmiCard. An ImmiCard can be used by some Government agencies to check the commencement of an individuals identity in Australia.
Australian citizens have unrestricted rights to work or study within Australia. If you are an Australian citizen you cannot use VEVO to confirm your right to work or study. However, you can add an Australian Right to Work check as a part of your personal criminal history check with National Crime Check.
Employers, education providers and other organisations can order VEVO checks through National Crime Check via our business portal or by using our API (link to this).
