FAQ's

Who can legally work in Australia?

In Australia, you can legally work if you are:

  • An Australian or New Zealand citizen.
  • An Australian permanent resident.
  • Have the right Visa. Please note, Australian visas can have restrictions including only being able to work for a certain employer or a specific number of hours.

Note: Foreign nationals who don’t have a valid visa are not allowed to work in Australia. This can include a person whose visa has expired or been cancelled.

How can I run Right-To-Work checks?

If you manage an organisation and are looking to run right-to-work checks on your employees or volunteers, we have two simple options available. You can either bundle the right-to-work check check alongside a police check, or you can process your right-to-work checks "standalone" without needing a corresponding police check.

This flexibility allows your to easily re-check and monitor candidates without needing a full police check each time. For foreign workers, it's important to always re-check your candidates on a regular basis, in case of any changes to their visa term or conditions.

Both options -- bundled and standalone -- are also available for API integration.

Who is National Crime Check?

NCC is an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) accredited agency. Our systems are connected to the department of immigration’s Visa Entitlement, so you can quickly obtain accredited police, Visa and right to work checks.

Does my right to work check reference the VEVO database?
